Reps were losing sales waiting days for design revisions. Built a real-time 3D uniform customizer so reps could customize uniforms live — closing deals on the first visit with the coach.
I was a project manager and UI designer on the QuickStrike team at ProLook, leading design on the Riddell Sports Uniform Customizer. I worked closely with engineering and product managers on the client side to ensure designs aligned with company goals and the engineering roadmap. Primary focus: Select Style, Select Cut, and Customize steps.
While trying to make a sale to a school, the time from leaving the coach's office to sending specs to designers — waiting for initial designs, revisions (often 8+ rounds) — took far too long. Competitors were closing deals in the time ProLook took to send a first draft. Performance issues with existing internal tools made it worse.
How might we give sales reps the ability to customize uniforms in real time with the coach — closing deals in the first meeting?
Create a 3D online customizer that could be used in real time with the coach during the first meeting — allowing both to make design changes on the spot. No waiting. No email chains. No lost sales.
This project expanded my practice beyond pure UX into product development and cross-functional project management. Working directly with engineering on a complex interactive tool reinforced the importance of designer-engineer collaboration — and showed me how much better products get when both sides speak the same language early.
Open to new opportunities — UX Design Lead, Senior Product Designer, and the right team.
